Vanilla Video

About: Vanilla video is the most basic form of video production.  When you see a graphic on our website that states “prices from…” or “from just…” we’re talking about a vanilla video production.

In basic terms it means no frills.  Whether shooting promo videos or training material the more money you are prepared to put into a budget the higher the production value will be but sometimes clients need something that is a little more basic and more streamlined budget-wise.

Why does higher production value cost more?

Well higher production value often comes from using specialist film and video equipment  such as bigger lights, dollies, jib arms, steadicam, higher spec cameras and specialist crew who know this kind of kit inside out.  Intricate VFX can also significantly raise production value but take expert knowledge and a great deal of time which ultimately means more cost.  We are more than happy to put together these kind of productions but for those clients that need something stripped down and as lean as can be we offer the vanilla option.

What do I get with a vanilla video?

If you choose to go down the vanilla route you will get a minimum of half a day filming on our in-house HD camera with one crew member.  Sound will be recorded onto a professional microphone (camera or stand mounted) and a small set of lights will be included in order to properly expose the image and make it look nice and pretty.  When it comes to post-production your video will have a minimum of half a day spent arranging and cutting material as well as addition of basic titles and encoding out to 1x delivery format (DVD, QuickTime for streaming online etc.)
