We are getting lots and lots of emails requesting consideration for freelance position or full time employment and we’re sorry to say that there aren’t really any positions available at present.

We do, however, have an occasional need for new freelancers if our regular crew members are unavailable so if you would like us to keep you on our books please send a biog of no more than 100 words, contact details and a link to your show reel via video@giantleapproductions.co.uk.

As well as being a good place for us to look for new talent when opportunities arise it should also help build an awareness of freelancers in the area and what specialities they have. It’s always good to network!

Giant Leap provides location and studio photography services in our home county of West Yorkshire as well as nationally. Our shooting style is relaxed yet professional and is able to utilise both artificial and available light. We are able to provide graded images in digital or print format and offer a RAW buyout of images should you wish to have them graded elsewhere. We love photography and take pride in making sure that we walk away with a number of fantastic images from every individual session. We make sure that images are well composed, tack sharp and properly exposed but that doesn’t mean we shy away from Photoshop once we bring our flash cards back to the studio to post-produce your images. We scrutinise every image that has been selected by our clients and regularly use Photoshop to tweak images in order to get just the look that is wanted. Popular requests include skin smoothing and blemish removal, creating high contrast looks, conversion to b&w as well as creative crops. When shooting digitally we only use professional full frame 35mm digital SLR cameras and as a result we can provide images that can be blown up to considerable size without showing noise that can ruin large image prints that are derived from entry-level digital SLRs and compact cameras.

Sony Ex3 live performance recording

A great time was had filming some live performances on the Sony Ex3 last night. It’s fantastic in low light situations and has very straight forward menu navigation which is always a bonus when having to get set up quickly. Performances were amazing and met some great people too. Top night all round!

Burned short film casting

Casting brief.

Jensen

30-40 lead male, strong actor required for this role as he must be able to go from vulnerable to fierce. Must be comfortable with kissing our perfect 10. Driving licence may be required. 2 day duration (tbc).

Ellie

25-35 female, strong and diverse actor vocally as required for mainly voice over. Some stills may also be required as part of the production. 1-2 day duration (tbc).

Perfect Ten

25-35 female, I’ll not lie to you ladies, this role is sex on legs! Body confident with no issues wearing daisy dukes. Although there is no dialogue you will need to be comfortable with kissing our Jensen. 1 day duration (tbc).

Sucker Punch

I had never walked out of a flick until this fateful evening. My girlfriend and I both sat, wriggling in our seats for 45 minutes of Sucker Punch before making a dash for the exit. I’ll tolerate all kinds of shit but this film was appalling. Dire story, lame characters and no incentive to care for any of them. I’m bored of Synder’s recycled visuals too. Epic fail.

It’s late and I’m trying to sift through a huge backlog of photo and video editing and I suddenly think… “what is that tumblr all about?”. I know I really shouldn’t be going off on a tangent when I have so much to get finished but what the hell I deserve a break. I’ll even throw a photo in for good measure.

This image is one of a good friend called Emma Lawford-Wise. She’s an actress and this is a quick shot we grabbed for her to send off to spotlight. I’m pretty pleased with the image considering how little time and kit we had to get the shot.
