Nick Padley Creative Director

Nick Padley fell in love with creating moving images when he started working as a runner on the independent music video scene in 2003. This quickly sparked an interest in shooting and editing video and led him to enrol at the Metropolitan Film School in order to gain an editing qualification. Following completion of the course, he returned to Yorkshire and set up Giant Leap Productions, a video production boutique, specialising in the creation of promotional/ training videos. This enabled him to work on video content for recognised brands such as Wella, Fairy Liquid, Nuts Magazine and Reebok Street Athletics as well as working with celebrities such as Alan Shearer, Linford Christie and Lewis Moody. Nick is a hands on film maker with experience in writing, lighting, lensing and editing with a passion for creating video content that is relevant and emotive.

Outside of Giant Leap, Nick has also freelanced in the locations department for independent feature films and television, with the highlight being a recent stint working for the BBC on the BAFTA nominated television drama Eric & Ernie as well as freelance editing and directing for brands such as ASDA, George and EDF Energy.

Nick has also spent the last two years developing a number of screenplays, spanning many different genres as well as directing his own fictional material. His science fiction short, Automaton, was nominated for best screenplay at Super Shorts International Film Festival 2009 and Rhode Island International Film Festival 2010 and has gathered interest from a number of high profile production companies. His first fictional short film Lie With Me was shot in November last year and is currently being screened at festivals in and outside the United Kingdom.
